The introduction to my life that you can skipPosted by Admin in Untagged |
If you've read my 'about me' section, you don't have to bother with this one, becasue it is the exact same version (thank goodness for cut and paste)
Hey, I'm stef (lower-case 's'), I'm from Australia, I play keyboard and I sing, and at one time I played violin. Then I stopped, cause it makes your arms pretty damn tired. Also, I grew out of my violin. If you haven't tried to play a violin when you have to smash your am against your side to reach the neck of the thing, the base digging into your neck, and your bow-arm half-dislocated in search of a couple of strings, then I don't advise you to start now! Ha ha. Although I would like to start it up again, but my parents have ruled that I shall only have one type of music lesson unless i would like to pay for it myself... which of course I don't. So I can't play guitar, either, which is annoying, as I have always wanted to learn.
My singing... I only have a two-octave range (E-flat to E-flat) , the middle being around the 'middle C' area, and whenever I am alone in the house I belt it out. The only reason the neighbours havent complained is that one is always working (seriously, I think we've only ever seen him about 15 times in almost as many years, but we know him, he's nice, and he lets me pat his cat. I've always wanted a cat, but we have a huge, beautiful, sooky dog who is terrified of them (explain THAT, Dr. Harry)), and the others routinely have large parties every Friday, so they're hardly in a position to complai. I'm just glad they don't know it's me making such a racket(even though I can sing and am in a church band, I frequently push my vocal cords to the limit, wherupon my voice cracks. With... interesting results).
Well, one thing you ought to know about me is that I have fingers of lengthy proportions, (which is reallly handy for skipping an octave on a keyboard) and legs to match. Despite this, I am really unfit; I cant even run a hundred metres without flagging.
Another thing I will mention that has nothing to do with music, but is still relevent because it's about me is that I am a Christian. I don't know all the answers to why the world is as it is, but I do still believe, and nothing will ever take away my love for God. The problem is, I am still human, and this tends to frustrate me intensely because I keep doing very stupid things and often have to talk myself out of situations, without lying. No wonder I want to become a writer. Despite these inconveniences, I still wouldn't trade my faith for anything.
Apart from music-related stuff (including listening to it) I also love gardening (weeding especially- I have been known to sit in the sun with an old shirt tied over my head and just weed the garden for 3 or 4 hours), and HOT HOT HOT curry, Winnie-the-Pooh (especially Eeyore), owls, reading (I am the biggest bookworm you will ever meet), and comics like Cathy, Garfield, Calvin and Hobbes, and Zits. I love the wind. Some people think it's really unsettling, but that's what I like about it.
OTHER RANDOM STUFF YOU DON'T HAVE TO READ:
I have really curly hair, not afro-type, but still curly enough to rival a slinky. I also have glasses, without which I look really weird. If that's proper grammar (and this sentence sure wasn't).
I don't feel the heat very easily, but I get cold really quickly.
As well as writing a book (hopefully), I also write and compose a heap of songs. I collect pigs as well, and I like to dance but I'm not very good at it.
Even though I'm Aussie to the core, I have this weird half-British accent thing, from watching too much British comedy. And then, just to be even stranger, I get a Kiwi accent when I'm upset.
